    The need for Professional 2.0

Building on the original concept of Web 2.0, a number of new 2.0 spaces have emerged - Office 2.0, Enterprise 2.0 and Travel 2.0. Each of these takes the macro level elements of Web 2.0 and interpretes how they will have a major impact on a particular segment of the web world.

This blog will be all about how Web 2.0 will impact individuals who provide professional services e.g. lawyers, IT consultants, accountants, marketing and corporate finance advisers - I will be making the case for a new concept - Professional 2.0

Today's professionals work mostly in traditional business structures which provide them with bounded resources, processes, software and information tools based on the premise that highly skilled individuals working together in traditional structures can share economies of brand, knowledge and infrastructure.

Web 2.0 software, services and content will allow individuals to work together in new order collaborative business models. Emerging Web 2.0 tools in the areas of community, collaboration, office productivity and web presence provide much of what the new order professional needs to win business on-line and work with anyone, anywhere, anytime.

A new type of professional will emerge based around the concept of Professional 2.0.

Take a look at the beta site I have set up to test these concepts for real and let me know your thoughts.
